The Motif of Harmful Sensation; Thanksgiving Day
This is quite interesting:
Motif of harmful sensation
It was crosslinked from the Wikipedia article on the so-called "Stendahl Syndrome," which I was reading because it reminded me of an experience that often happens to me when I listen to exceptionally good music. However, Stendahl Syndrome, as interesting as it might be, is not of particular interest to this blog. I suspect "Motif of harmful sensation" may be, though, someday. Call it an intuition. So, I note it here for future reference.
I also note that as of 40 minutes ago, it is now Thanksgiving Day in this timezone. While this holiday is ostensibly about giving thanks for the trifles we have in life, in actual practice, if we are honest with ourselves, a major component of Thanksgiving celebration involves outright gluttony.
However, since this is the Decadence Report, I am certainly not going to condemn gluttony, am I? Just be sure that, if you are going to overeat, don't hurt yourself. (Unless you really want to. ;)
